Board of Directors

Captain Dennis Andrews
President

I have been on the department for almost 29 years. Board member for 4 and served on the board once before. To serve on the Board is an opportunity to represent some of the finest people I have ever met. It is also an opportunity to give back to an organization that has done so much for so many for so many years. This really is a place of tradition, family and a common bond and it all is represented as the BHFA. Most of my recreational time is spent with family or riding my bike. I enjoy competing in bike races which have given me some great memories both good and not so good.

Firefighter/Paramedic Kurt Versteeg
Vice President

I’ve been on the Department for 21 years and I am currently nearing the end of my third year on the Association Board. Beverly Hills is a very unique city to work in/for in more ways than one. It is a great place to work largely due to the relationship we have with the community. I do feel we are part of it and not just a group of people that work here. Another unique aspect of working for Beverly Hills Fire is our Association. It has always been involved in charitable endeavors and has had a vision of principles and practice that I believe very strongly in. It is the belief in those principles that caused me to run for the Board of Directors. I spend most of my off time with my wife and four kids, who are heavily involved in sports. In the summer we spend a lot of time boating, wakeboarding and camping.

Captain Dean Viana
Second Vice President

I've been working the Beverly Hills Fire Department for the last 17 years. I am currently a Captain and Paramedic Coordinator. I've been on the board of directors for the Beverly Hills Firemen's Association for almost two years now. I hold the position as treasurer. I enjoy being part of the board and maintaining a strong association membership and open communications between the BHFD and BHFA. I feel it's important to keep an open mind in all areas and decisions we are faced with. I also feel that having a positive attitude and providing inspirational leadership and support to all of our members is a vital part of my job. I personally strive to continue the professionlism, focus and success that all of our previous board members maintained. Off-duty I enjoy triathlons, swimming-biking-runnning, surfing, and basketball. I am also a owner of small business that teaches people how to save lives (http://celebritycpr.com).

Engineer Victor Gutierrez
Treasurer

I started with the Beverly Hills Fire Dept in 1994 and I became an engineer in 2002. In my spare time, I coach sports for my two children. My family also likes to go camping throughout the year. I enjoy working in Beverly Hills because of the relationship we have with the community and the family-like atmosphere of the department.

Firefighter/Paramedic Kurt Beeson
Secretary

I have been with the BHFD for 10 years.  I am looking forward to serving on the board.
